FRUIT HEIGHTS, Utah -- The 104th Utah Women’s State Amateur is underway this week at Davis Park Golf Course and four current Wildcats finished in the top 13 in the stroke play portion to advance to the round of 16.

Nyomy Obcemea led the way, carding a 73 to finish fourth. Kelsey Podlesny tied for 6th with a 75, Kelsey Adams tied for 10th at 76 and Amanda Snyder tied for 13th with a 78. Former Wildcat, Jessica Thomas, also advanced to the match play after matching Adams' 76.

In the match play round of 16, Obcemea, Snyder and Adams all suffered defeats, while Thomas and Podlesny moved on.  Podlesny defeated Sami Crouch 1-up, while Thomas downed Emily Copier 1-up.

In the quarterfinals, Podlesny ran into defending champion Natalie Stone, who cruised to a 5 & 4 victory. Thomas also lost in the quarters, falling 3 & 2 to Jenteal Jackson.
