OGDEN, Utah -- The Weber State women's tennis team picked up a win on Sunday as it pulled off a clean sweep over the College of Idaho at the Ogden Athletic Club.
The Wildcats took all three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead in the match. Greyce Farias and Elsje Beneke defeated Kate Leadbetter and Kim Clements 8-2 at No. 1, while Brittiny Moore and Caroline Drugge cruised to an 8-0 win over Melissa Rowe and Molly Leadbetter at No. 2. In the No. 3 match, Markay Mullen and Alyssia Pyne defeated Haley Hutchings and Teresa Kucera 8-4.
In singles, the Wildcats won all six matches in straight sets. Keya Jenkins did not lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Kate Leadbetter in the No. 1 match. Farias defeated Clements 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2, and Beneke beat Hutchings 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3. Brittiny Moore gave up only one game in a 6-0, 6-1 win over Rowe at No. 4. Kassia Adamson defeated Molly Leadbetter 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5, and Sarah Berrett got a win in her first collegiate singles match, defeating Kucera 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6.
The Wildcats moved to 3-7 on the season, while the Coyotes dropped to 0-3.
