Weber State's Natalie Haws (Soph.- Kaysville, Utah / Davis HS) has been named
the Female Track Athlete of the Meet in last weekend's 2010 Big Sky Conference
Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Montana State
University in Bozeman, Montana.
On Friday night (Feb. 26), Haws won the women's 5,000 meter race in
17:00.61. That is an NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship provisional
qualifying time and broke the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse record of 17:05.05 set in
2007 by LINDSEY ANDERSON of Weber State. Anderson went on to compete for the USA
Olympic Team which participated in Beijing, China. Natalie came back on
Saturday afternoon to place second in the 3,000 meter run with a career best
time of 9:52.41. That is also the fifth fastest time in Weber State women's
indoor history.
The award culminates a come back from a leg injury suffered last Fall
which prevented her from participating in the 2009 cross country season.
