PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. -- The Weber State men's golf team finished up its second tournament in five days on Tuesday, as the Wildcats came in ninth at the Triumph at Pauma Valley. The tournament was hosted by the University of San Francisco at the Pauma Valley Country Club. Weber State posted rounds of 311, 316 and 315 for a total of 942.
Central Arkansas won the event at 889, five shots in
front of runner-up San Francisco at 894. Long Beach
State took third at 895, while Portland was fourth at
909. Air Force rounded out the top-five teams at 917.
Chris Whitney of Air Force won the event at 2-under 211
and posted the low round of the tournament with a 3-under 68 on Tuesday.
Steve Lecuyer of Central Arkansas captured runner-up honors at 2-over
215.
Nick Despain led the Wildcats with a 24th place finish after shooting a three-round total of 231. Kurt Owen tied for 30th with a 234 and Alex Sutton tied for 40th with a 238. Brett Jessen (T-54, 245) and Keaton Woodland (T-56, 246) rounded out the Wildcat scoring team.
