SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Under the sunny skies of northern California, the Wildcats got the outdoor season off to a solid start.
The Weber State men’s and women’s track and field teams participated in the Hornet Invitational, hosted by Sacramento State, on Friday and Saturday and had some strong showings to get the season underway.
Weber State’s men’s team captured the team title at the event, beating Pac-12 California 166-164 on the final event, the men’s 4x400 relay, to win the meet.
“I was very pleased that 22 of the 48 athletes had personal records this weekend,” Weber State Director of Track and Field Dan Walker said. “We are leading the Big Sky in eight events, and the men winning a very good meet is an outstanding accomplishment.
