CHENEY, Wash. – The Wildcats came up short in a shootout with the Eagles.

Despite four players in double figures, the Weber State University women’s basketball team tell 99-85 in Eastern Washington on Saturday afternoon at Reese Court.

Senior guard Deeshyra Thomas led the way for the Purple and White with 22 points, while Yarden Danan added 18, Kailie Quinn had 16 and Emily Drake finished with 13 for Weber State, which fell to 2-3 in Big Sky Conference action (8-8 overall).

The Eagles shot a blistering 57.1 percent from the field, outscoring the Wildcats in each of the first three quarters to build a 74-52 leading heading into the final quarter.

Eastern Washington (4-1 Big Sky, 9-7 overall) was led by Ashli Payne’s 26 points and 11 rebounds, while teammate Delaney Hodgins added 26 for the Eagles.

Weber State will return home on Thursday to face North Dakota at 7 p.m.
