OGDEN - The Weber State men’s basketball team hosted its annual scrimmage Wednesday night at the Dee Events Center, giving Wildcat fans their first look at the 2016-17 team.
The Purple team beat the Black team 37-30 in the 22-minute scrimmage. Three Wildcats scored in double figures in the game. Senior Jeremy Senglin had 10 points and knocked down two 3-pointers, while junior Dusty Baker also had 10 points, while shooting 4-for-5 from the field, including 2-for-3 from 3-point range.
New Wildcat junior Brekkott Chapman also had 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting. Chapman transferred to WSU in the summer from the University of Utah and will sit out this season as a transfer.
Sophomore Cody John added nine points and led the team with four assists and sophomore Zach Braxton chipped in with eight points and grabbed five rebounds. Red shirt freshman Jordan Dallas had six points and led the team with seven rebounds.
The purple team shot 51 percent, while the black team shot 43 percent. The two teams totaled eight 3-pointers.
The Wildcats host an exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. The regular season will tipoff on Friday, Nov. 11 against Antelope Valley.
