Wildcats fall short vs. No. 11 Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. - Facing their toughest opposition of the season in a hostile environment, the Weber State University women's volleyball team came up short on Saturday afternoon.

Playing in front of 4,035 at NU Colisuem, No. 11-ranked Nebraska defeated the Wildcats 25-15, 25-7, 25-16 in the finale of the Ameritas Players Challenge, claiming the tournament title.

Junior outside hitter Bethany Wray led Weber State with eight kills and seven digs, while freshman outside hitter Mackenzie Clark added six kills and five digs.

Weber State fell to 0-9 with the loss, while the Cornhuskers moved to 7-1.

The Wildcats will return home on Tuesday night to face Boise State at 7 p.m. in Swenson Gym. It will be the final pre-conference match for Weber State, which begins Big Sky Conference action on Friday against Eastern Washington.
