Kela returns for his junior season at cornerback for the Wildcats. In two previous seasons with the Wildcats he has played in 21 games. He has 59 career tackles and seven pass deflections entering the season.
2011 (Sophomore)
Saw action in 10 games for the Wildcats on the year...Finished third in the Big Sky in punt return average...Recorded 12 punt returns for 86 yards for an average of 7.2 yards per return...Had a season-long return of 30 yards in WSU’s Homecoming win over Idaho State on Oct. 15...Also had one kickoff return of 22 yards against the Bengals...Was second on the WSU team and 13th in the Big Sky in passes defended...Had five pass breakups and recorded one interception, coming in Weber State’s home opening win over Sacramento State...Recorded 37 total tackles on the season with 23 unassisted and 14 assisted...Had one tackle for loss...Finished the year with 110 all-purpose yards.
2010 (Freshman)
Appeared in all 11 games for the Wildcats during the season, starting two games at home against Portland State and Montana...Recorded 22 total tackles on the season with 18 unassisted and four assisted...Had a season-high four tackles in WSU’s Homecoming win over UC Davis on Sept. 25...Also recorded one tackle for loss at Sacramento State...Had one interception for six yards in WSU’s win at Northern Arizona on Nov. 13...Was named to the Big Sky Academic All-Conference Team.

‘Iolani High School
Played for Coach Wendell Look at ‘Iolani High in Kailua, Hawaii...Played on two state championship teams in football and one in basketball...Earned All-State honors his sophomore year as a defensive back and at quarterback his junior and senior seasons...Had 12 career interceptions...Had a 70-yard touchdown run in the state championship his senior which was televised throughout the Islands.
