Weber State is in the home stretch and only has six games left this season, four of which are on the road. First up, the Wildcats head to Northern Colorado and North Dakota to take on the top two teams in the Big Sky.
ON THE HORIZON
Weber State will host Eastern Washington Feb. 23 and Idaho Feb. 25 for the final home games of the season.
• The Wildcats posted a 5-0 record at the start of the season making it the best start to any season in Wildcat history.
• KAILIE QUINN and EMILY DRAKE are the only two Wildcats to start all 23 games for Weber State.
• EMILY DRAKE remains the Wildcats leading scorer averaging14.1 points per game.
• Weber State has had five different athletes score 20 or more points in a game this season, JOCELYN ADAMS, EMILY DRAKE, DEESHYRA THOMAS, and most recently JAIAMONI WELCH-COLEMAN and YARDEN DANAN.
• DEESHYRA THOMAS has 10 career games scoring 20 or more points in a game, three this season.
• THOMAS is just 34 points short of joining the 1,000 point club. Thomas averages 13.4 points a game and is projected to break 1,000 in the next three games.
• EMILY DRAKE is No. 3 in the Big Sky in 3-point field goals made with her 72 on the year. Drake has also managed to stay in the top 50 in the nation in three point shooting. She sits at No. 42 in attempts, 47 in made and 34 in threes made per game with 2.83.
• WSU has a 12-11 overall record on the season and are sitting at No. 7 in the Big Sky standings with a 6-6 record.
• Weber State is on a four game winning streak after taking down Southern, Northern Arizona, Sac State and Portland State.

IT’S RAINING THREES
Weber State currently sits at No. 19 in the nation in three point field goals per game collectively averaging 8.3. The heavens opened up for the Wildcats against Portland State as WSU hit 15-33 from beyond the arc for 45 percent. In the first quarter alone WSU hit eight three pointers. That was the second most three pointers made in a single game by any team in WSU history. It was the second time in a row that WSU hit 14 or more three pointers against Portland State.
THOMAS ON THE FAST TRACK
Senior Deeshyra Thomas led WSU to both victories this past weekend scoring in double figures both games. She had 16 points against Portland State going 7-14 from the field and hit two three pointers. She also notched the game high of four assists and two steals. Thomas has now scored in double figures 16 times this season and 44 different times in her career.
Thomas is just 34 points away from breaking into the 1,000 point club and with her 13.4 points a game average is projected to reach the milestone in the next four games.
SERIES HISTORY - NORTHERN COLORADO
This will be the 30th meeting between Weber State and Northern Colorado. Northern Colorado leads the series 18-11. The Wildcats are currently on a one game losing streak to the Bears. WSU has a 3-10 record when taking on No. Colorado in Greeley and are looking to pick up their first win in Greeley since 2008.
LAST TIME - NORTHERN COLORADO
The two teams matched up earlier this year where the Bears took down the Wildcats 88-79 in Ogden.
ABOUT - NORTHERN COLORADO
Northern Colorado is 19-5 overall on the season and 11-2 in Big Sky play. The Bears are currently sitting in a three-way tie at No. 1 in the Big Sky Standings with North Dakota and Montana State. UNC is currently on a one game losing streak and are coming off a 61-67 loss to Eastern Washington.
The Bears average 70.5 points per game and are shooting .433 from the field, .353 from the three and .780 from the free throw line. Northern Colorado averages 36.7 rebounds per game and have recorded 881 total on the season.
The Bears are led by Savannah Smith who averages 16.3 points per game. She is shooting .405 from the field and .369 from the three.
Courtney Smith from UNC has the best field goal percentage in the Big Sky going 136-229 from the field for a .594 percentage.
Northern Colorado’s top rebounder is Savannah Scott who averages 5.5 boards per game and has 131 total on the season. Scott also leads the Big Sky in three point field goal percentage going 44-91 from deep range for .484 percent.
SERIES HISTORY - NORTH DAKOTA
This will be the 10th meeting between Weber State and North Dakota. North Dakota leads the series 7-2. The Wildcats are currently on a one game losing streak to the Fighting Hawks. WSU has a 2-2 record when taking on UND in Grand Forks and are looking to pick up their third consecutive win at the Betty.
LAST TIME - NORTH DAKOTA
The two teams matched up earlier this year in Ogden. UND defeated Weber State 70-65.
ABOUT - NORTH DAKOTA
North Dakota is 16-8 overall on the season and 11-2 in Big Sky play. The Fighting Hawks are currently sitting in a three way tie at No. 1 in the Big Sky Standings with Northern Colorado and Montana State. UND are coming off of 74-61 loss to Idaho. That loss snapped a seven game win streak.
The Fighting Hawks average 72.1 points per game and are shooting .399 from the field, .326 from the three and .728 from the free throw line. North Dakota averages 42.5 rebounds per game and have recorded 1020 total on the season.
UND is led by Makailah Dyer who averages 14.3 points per game. She is shooting .393 from the field and .364 from the three and .736 from the line. UND has three other Hawks averaging 10 or more points. Lexi Klabo (11.6), Samantha Roscoe (10.5) and Fallyn Freije (10.0).
Klabo is North Dakota’s top rebounder pulling down 8.4 boards per game and 202 total on the season. Klabo is also No. 2 in the Big Sky in rebounding with 67 offensive boards and 135 defensive boards on the year.
MEET THE WILDCATS
The Wildcats return five letter winners off last year’s squad with one senior in Deeshyra Thomas who is the teams top returning scorer. There are two juniors returning this year with Kailie Quinn who was the third best scorer last season and Joceyln Adams. There is one new junior to the program this year a junior college transfer Audrey Frison.
There are four sophomores returning this year in J’aiamoni Welch-Coleman, Yarden Danan, Emily Drake and Tyschal Blake.
The Wildcats welcome five new freshman this year. Guards Zharia Hale and Payton Whitmore, and post players Dominqiue Williams and Gina O’Brien are expected to step up big for the Wildcat program this year.
