OGDEN – After scoring a team-best four goals in 2016, freshman forward Paige Stevens was named co-Newcomer of the Year for the Big Sky Conference on Tuesday.

Stevens, who also earned All-Big Sky Conference Honorable Mention honors, had four goals, including three during the conference season. She finished with eight total offensive points.

The speedy forward, a native of Willard, Utah, scored the match-winning goal in a 2-1 road win at Southern Utah, and scored a spectacular 1-on-6 goal against eventual league champion Idaho in the first-ever night match at Wildcat Soccer Field.

Stevens shared the Newcomer award with Idaho’s Emma Eddy and Sacramento State’s Mikayla Reed.

In addition to Stevens, sophomore midfielder Madison Garlock earned All-Big Sky Conference Second Team honors. Garlock scored two goals, both of which were match-winners, and had two assists for six offensive points.

Sophomore defender Olivia Glassford also earned All-Big Sky Conference Honorable Mention honors.
