OGDEN, Utah--Senior Amber Henry has been named the Big Sky Track Athlete of the Week for the 16th time in her storied Weber State career. Henry shares the award this week with Montana's Reagan Colyer who was also named Big Sky Track Co-Athlete of the Week.
The Mountain View, Wyo. native set the Big Sky’s number one time of 9:22.24 in the 3,000-meter run. She was the second-collegiate finisher at the Iowa State Classic in the event and now has the number one time in the Big Sky in the mile and the 3,000-meters.
This is the second time this season that Henry has won the Track Ahtlete of the Week.
Henry was named the Big Sky Track MVP last season after the Big Sky Conferece Outdoor Meet. Henry is a two-time track and field All-American. She finished third in the steeplechase at the 2013 NCAA Championships.
Henry is coming off of a knee injury that hindered her during the cross country season.
Henry was also named the 2012-13 Weber State Female Athlete of the Year. She is planning on getting her degree in nursing and currently holds a GPA of 3.84.
