SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Weber State University women’s volleyball team closed out the road portion of its 2013 schedule on Saturday night, falling 25-14, 25-20, 25-13 in just 76 minutes to Sacramento State at Colberg Court.

Junior outside hitter Audrey Biggs had eight kills and sophomore outside hitter Rebecca Fuchs added seven kills and a .400 hitting percentage, but the two received little help as the Wildcats combined for just 19 kills in the match.

Fuchs added five block assists, two digs and a service ace for Weber State, which dropped to 3-15 in Big Sky play (7-25 overall). The Hornets improved to 9-9 in league action, 14-15 overall.

Junior setter McKay Tarbox added 12 digs and a service ace, while sophomore middle blocker Audrey Hunter had five block assists and sophomore setter Whitney Hunt had 10 assists and two blocks.

Sacramento State was led by Kayla Beal’s 10 kills.

The opening two sets featured 14 ties and five lead changes, but Sacramento State captured both to stake out a 2-0 lead in the match, and then closed things down in the third set to earn the sweep.

Weber State will return home this week to face Portland State and Eastern Washington, which will wrap up the Wildcats season.
