Wildcat volleyball faces final two road matches

POCATELLO, Idaho – For one last week, the Wildcats take to the road in the Big Sky.

The Weber State University women’s volleyball team wraps up the road portion of its 2013 schedule this week when the Wildcat travel to face rival Idaho State on Wednesday night, before facing their final road match at Sacramento State on Saturday.

First serve against the Bengals is set for 7 p.m. at Reed Gym, with the match against the Hornets set to begin at 8 p.m. from The Nest.

Weber State will carry a 3-13 Big Sky and 7-23 overall record into the match, while Idaho State is 11-5 in league play and 17-10 overall. The Hornets are 8-8 in Big Sky, 13-14 overall, and will face the Bengals on Friday before hosting the Wildcats.

Junior outside hitter Audrey Biggs leads Weber State in kills with 304 (2.71/set), and is second in total points with 339.5.

Sophomore outside hitter Rebecca Fuchs leads the Wildcats in points with 350, and is second in kills with 284 (2.58/set). She also leads the team in service aces, is second in digs (159, 1.45/set) and third in blocking (67, .61/set).

Freshman middle blocker Megan Bean leads the Wildcats in blocking with 80 total blocks (.93/set), while sophomore middle blocker Audrey Hunter is second with 74 (.84/set) and freshman middle blocker Katie Harvey is third (73, .96/set).

Junior libero McKay Tarbox leads the Wildcats in digs with 460 (4.07/set).

After this week’s two road matches, Weber State will return home next weekend to face Eastern Washington and Portland State to wrap up the 2013 season.
