OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State University women’s volleyball team wraps up a four-match home stand this weekend when the Wildcats host a pair of matches at Swenson Gym.
Coming off a thrilling five-set victory over in-state rival Southern Utah last weekend, Weber State will host Northern Colorado on Friday night at 7 p.m., followed by a meeting with league-leading North Dakota on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Weber State (2-10 Big Sky, 6-20 overall) defeated the Bears in a five-set thriller earlier this season in Greeley, Colo., and will look for a season sweep. Northern Colorado is 5-7 in league play and 9-13 overall.
North Dakota swept Weber State in competitive match in Grand Forks, N.D., earlier this year, a match that saw the Wildcats with one of their most consistent and efficient attacking outings of the season.
Sophomore outside hitter Rebecca Fuchs has recorded a team-high 142.5 points during Big Sky play, recording 114 kills (2.48/set), 13 service aces and 26 total blocks. Overall this season she has 299.5 points and 23 service aces.
Junior outside hitter Audrey Biggs leads Weber State with 123 kills (2.73/set) during conference play and has 260 kills (2.68/set) overall.
Freshman middle blocker Megan Bean leads the team in blocking with 72 total blocks, including 13 solo blocks, for an average of 1.00 blocks per set.
Junior libero McKay Tarbox has 410 digs, averaging 4.18 digs per set. Those numbers rank seventh and third, respectively, in Weber State’s single-season top 10 charts.
After this weekend’s matches, the Wildcats head back out on the road for a four-match road trip, before returning home on Nov. 21 & 23 to wrap up the regular season.
