WSU Ends Fall Season with Sixth Place Finish

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. -- The Weber State women's golf team wrapped up its 2013 fall schedule on Tuesday with its fourth top-10 finish of the season, as the 'Cats took sixth place at the Firestone Grill/Cal Poly Invitational at Cypress Ridge Golf Club.

The Wildcats shot rounds of 318 and 315 for a total of 633, tying with Cal Poly's B team.

The Cal Poly A team won the event, finishing with a total of 608. Seattle finished second at 616, while UC Riverside was third at 624.

Santa Clara's Annie Freman shot a second round 69 to separate herself from Cal Poly's Jamie Corr for medalist honors. The pair entered the round tied atop the individual leaderboard after opening round 73's. Corr shot 73 in the final round to finish in a second place tie at 146 with Seattle's Juhee Lee.

Weber State was led by Alli Cluff, who shot rounds of 79 and 77 to tie for 15th with a 10-over-par 156.

Emily Podlesny shot 158 to tie for 21st place. Nyomy Obcemea, who was playing as an individual, also shot 158, giving the Wildcats three players in the top-25 overall.

Kaceelyn Pouttu and Courtney Saffell each shot 160 to tie for 29th place, while Kristie Jensen shot 163 to finish in a tie for 38th.

Lexie Albi, who was also playing as an individual, shot 171 to tie for 55th.
