The Wildcats have scheduled games with Arizona State and Sacramento State.

OGDEN, Utah - The Weber State football team has announced non-conference games against two opponents in 2014 and 2015. The Wildcats will play Arizona State in 2014 and have scheduled a non-conference series with Sacramento State in 2014 and 2015.

The Wildcats and Sun Devils will meet in the 2014 season opener at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. It will be the first meeting ever between the two schools and mark the fifth opponent for Weber State from a BCS conference.

The University of Utah is the only school from the Pac-12 Conference that Weber State has played and the Wildcats and Utes will meet again in 2013 in Salt Lake City. The Wildcats have played just four schools (Arkansas, Boston College, Texas Tech, Utah) that are currently members of a BCS conference. Weber State is also scheduled to play at Oregon State in the season opener in 2015.

Weber State has also announced a non-conference series with fellow Big Sky member Sacramento State. The Wildcats and Hornets will play a home-and-home series beginning Sept. 13, 2014 in Sacramento. The two teams will then meet on Sept. 19, 2015 at Stewart Stadium in Ogden. The Big Sky opponents have met each year since 1996 but are not scheduled to play conference games in 2014 and 2015. Both scheduled games will be non-conference games and will not count in the Big Sky standings.

“We’re pleased to announce these future games to our football schedules, said Weber State Director of Athletics Jerry Bovee. “We’re excited for the chance to play another Pac-12 team in Arizona State and know that will be a game our fans will look forward to. We also are looking forward to a non-conference series with Sacramento State as another opportunity to play a quality FCS opponent.”

Weber State will still add one home game to the 2014 football schedule. FCS teams are allowed to play 12 regular season games in 2013 and 2014.
