OGDEN, Utah -- Weber State football head coach Jody Sears added 25 student-athletes Wednesday to the 2013 Wildcat football signing class.
Two players, Bo Bolen and Helam Heimuli, previously signed at Weber State and are now in school after serving LDS Church missions. Bolen played two seasons at Weber State and was a two-time All-Conference performer. The Wildcats added two junior college transfers in D.J. Bush and Alfonso Medina. A total of 21 high school players were added to the program.
Sears and the Wildcat coaching staff added 16 players on the offensive side of the ball and nine players on defense. A total of eight of the new players are from the state of Utah with six from Florida, four from Hawaii, three from Idaho, two from California, and one each from Colorado and Nevada.
“This was a great recruiting class for us were able to address our needs and get the players we wanted in those areas,” Coach Sears said. “We were looking for high character players with toughness and that could come in and help out our team and we feel we got that. Our coaches really worked hard at finding the kind of players that will fit into our system. We are excited to have these players come to Weber State and look forward to getting spring ball started.”
