Unger Provides Lone Bright Spot in Loss to Grizz

OGDEN, Utah -- One day after pulling out a tough win over Montana State, the Weber State men's tennis team suffered a Big Sky Conference setback on Sunday with a 6-1 loss to the University of Montana at the Ogden Athletic Club.

Simon Unger was the lone Wildcat to find success throughout the day, winning at both doubles and singles.

Unger, teaming with Oliver Good, defeated Montana's top duo of Mikolaj Caruk and Andrew Warren 8-4.

The Wildcats' No. 1 player then returned in singles to cruise to a 6-1, 6-1 win over the Grizzlies' Carl Kuschke.

Dave Hintze won his opening set 7-6 in the No. 4 singles match, but Michael Facey rallied to win 6-3 in the second and took a 10-7 tiebreak third for the win. The other four Wildcats fell in straight sets.

Weber State dropped to 8-9 overall and 4-2 in Big Sky play, but remain in position to earn one of four spots in the conference tournament with two league matches to play.  Montana improved to 9-4 overall and remained unbeaten in the conference at 4-0.
