During her Prep Career: Ketcher lettered
four times in softball at Copper Hills and earned three letters in
basketball. She helped her Copper Hills team to a fifth-place finish in
the 2006 State Tournament. She was named All-Region in both 2007 and
2008 and was named All-State last season. She was also a Deseret News
Prep Athlete of the Week and was named the team Offensive Player of the
Year last season. This past summer, she was named to the Park City
Triple Crown tournament All-Star Team while playing with her Utah Red
Hots club team.
Linnea
achieved five State hitting records in 2008, setting marks with
10-consecutive hits, 54 hits in a season and most singles in a season
(47), while tying the marks for most hits in a game (5) and most
singles in a game (5). Her .600 Batting Average last year was the third
highest in Utah high school history.
Linnea
enters Weber State with a 3.95 high school GPA and intends to major in
Nursing. Her father, Stan Ketcher, played college baseball at Brigham
Young and her grandfather, Jim Ketcher, played professional baseball in
the Florida State League.
