J.C. finished his four-year career at Weber State in 2011. He played in 48 career games at Weber State and started 47 of them. He did not start in the first game of his career as a freshman but started the next 47 games for the Wildcats. As a senior in 2011 he was named a consensus All-American.
Was one of the top offensive guards in the nation and started all 11 games for the Wildcats...Was part of the offensive line that blocked for All-Conference quarterback Mike Hoke as well as the Wildcat rushing offense, which finished fourth in the Big Sky...Earned All-American honors for the second-straight season and was a consensus All-American in 2011...Was named First Team All-American by the Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association and Walter Camp...Was named Second Team All-American by The Sports Network...Was also honored as a First Team selection to the Phil Steele FCS All-American Team and named to the College Sporting News Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America Team...Was also selected as a First Team All-Big Sky Conference performer for the second-straight season.

Earned Second Team All-Big Sky Conference honors in 2009, helping the Wildcats to a 7-5 record overall and a 6-2 mark in Big Sky Conference play...Was part of a line which enabled running back Trevyn Smith to attain his fourth straight 1,000 yards rushing season, and gave protection to quarterback Cameron Higgins, allowing him to throw for 3,326 yards and 30 touchdowns...Played and started in all 12 games.
Earned Second Team All-Big Sky Conference honors as a red-shirt freshman...Was part of an offensive line which helped the Wildcats to a 10-4 overall record and a 7-1 record in Big Sky play...The Wildcats were Co-Big Sky Conference champions, the first league title by the Wildcats since 1968...WSU earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Division I FCS playoffs where they stunned No. 3 ranked Cal Poly, on the road, 49-35 in the opening round...His play enabled Cameron Higgins to throw for a WSU single season record 4,477 yards and 36 touchdowns, and helped Trevyn Smith rush for 1,585 yards and 21 touchdowns...Smith was the 2008 Big Sky rushing leader...Higgins was the league passing leader and Offensive MVP.
