Weber State women’s tennis put up a solid effort but couldn’t pull out a victory over Montana State and fell 6-1 Sunday afternoon.

“Montana State played solid tennis today right from the beginning and never let up,” said assistant coach Mark Roberts. “As a whole we need to get our whole team to show up on game day and compete better than what we are doing at the moment. It’s one thing to try hard and want to win, and another thing to compete hard and find a way to win. The girls have to keep working and stay hungry to improve their individual performances.”

Dominique Beauvais and Morgan Dickason each split their sets but fell in tie breakers. The lone Wildcat point of the day came from Devi Hasan in the No. 6 spot. Hasan defeated  Wanda Holopainen 6-1, 7-5.

The Wildcats are now 2-14 overall on the season and 2-5 in Big Sky Conference play. Weber State will next return home to take on Idaho and Eastern Washington.
