BOULDER CITY, Nev. — The Weber State women's golf team shot rounds of 323 and 316 on Monday as it opened up the spring season with the first 36 holes of the Battle at Boulder Creek tournament. The Wildcats will enter Tuesday's final round in a tie for 5th place.
Kaceelyn Pouttu led the Wildcats with rounds of 74 and 76 to position herself in a tie for sixth overall.
Southern Utah shot a total of 593 on the day to open up a 10-shot lead in the team standings. The Thunderbirds were led by Taylor Viquelia, who shot 74-70 for the individual medalist lead.
Haylee Chugg shot 162 over Monday's two rounds and is currently tied for 24th for Weber State. Xena Motes was another shot back tied for 27th, while Sierra Harr and Michelle Tierney are each tied for 34th at 168. Lexie Albi shot 178 playing as an individual and is in 43rd place.
The final 18-holes will begin on Tuesday morning.
