LAS VEGAS - Weber State men's tennis continued the UNLV invitational Saturday morning with a 7-0 victory over UC Riverside.
Weber State started the day capturing the all three doubles matches for the doubles point.
In the No. 3 three spot, Hou-En Chen and Cezary Walkusz defeated nabil Abdallah and Gilbert Chung 6-1. WSU then quickly picked up a victory in the No. 1 spot. Shao-Po Yin and Stefan Cooper defeated Cooper Bridge and Anderson Ju 6-2.
Singles play started with van Wyk's sixth consecutive victory on the weekend. van Wyk took down Tadeas Lansky 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 3 spot.
In the No. 4 spot, Chen defeate Abdallah 6-2, 6-3 while Van Schoor followed closely behind with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Chung.
With three Wildcat victories in singles play and the doubles point WSU had clinched the match. The rest of the matches were played out and Cooper was the next Wildcat to pick up a win. In the No. 2 spot Cooper defeated McCann 6-3, 2-6 (10-5).
Yin finished his match off in the No. 1 spot with a 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 win over Bridge.
The final Wildcat to pull out a singles victory on the day was Walkusz. He defeated Ju, 3-6, 6-0 (10-8).
Weber State is now 3-3 overall on the season and will take on New Mexico State tomorrow in the final day of the UNLV invite.
