OGDEN, Utah - The Weber State University women's basketball team will play nine non-conference games, including three at home, in preparation for the newly-expanded 20-game Big Sky Conference season.
The Wildcats will face challenging competition from around the country, taking on schools from the Pacific 12, Big 12, Mountain West, and West Coast conferences.
"We are looking forward to this season and feel this will be a good and challenging schedule for us," said Weber State head coach Bethann Ord. "We have another tough preseason schedule against some very good opponents which will be good preparation for the expanded Big Sky season."
After hosting a pair of exhibition games in early November, Weber State will open its 2012-13 regular season on Nov. 9 against in-state rival Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
The Wildcats home debut will come a few days later when they host Boise State on Nov. 15, before a quick road trip to Stillwater, Okla., to face Oklahoma State on Nov. 18.
WSU will then host Army (Nov. 21) and in-state rival Utah (Nov. 24), before hitting the road to face New Mexico, Utah Valley, Wyoming, and Arizona.
Weber State will open the Big Sky Conference portion of its season on Dec. 20, hosting Eastern Washington at Noon as part of the team's annual Field Trip Day promotion.
In Big Sky play, the Wildcats will host four of their first six conference games, and then have a four-game home stand from Jan. 24 to Feb. 2, 2013.
The annual Purple and White scrimmage game will take place on Oct. 24.
