OGDEN, Utah - Seeking to build off a solid start to Pacific Coast action, the Weber State University softball team hosts rival Idaho State this weekend for a four-game series at Wildcat Softball Field.
Friday's action begins at 2 p.m., with a doubleheader, with the series set to wrap up on Saturday, beginning at Noon.
Weber State is 5-3 in Pacific Coast action (16-23), and is currently tied with Utah Valley for second in the league standings. The Wildcats trail conference-leader Portland State by just one game with series against the Wolverines and Vikings on tap during the next two weeks. Weber State enters Friday's action after dropping a non-conference twinbill to Utah State on Wednesday.
Idaho State is 2-6 in PCSC action (6-28 overall) after dropping a 1-3 series decision to Portland State last weekend in Portland, Ore. The Bengals, however, are coming off a 7-4 win over BYU in Pocatello, Idaho, on Monday afternoon.
Saturday will be Weber State's Senior Day for the Wildcats' five seniors: RHP Sarah Clark, CF Erika James-Dixon, 1B/Util Kami Johnson-Holley, 2B Symbree Minniear and 3B Lyndsey Minnich. The quintet will be honored between games 3 and 4 on Saturday. The five players will leave the Purple and White having shattered numerous single-season and career records.
