Steve Klauke, a two-time Utah Sportscaster of the Year, is in his second season as the voice of Weber State Athletics. Klauke is the radio play-by-play voice for all Weber State football and men’s basketball games.
After filling in on WSU radio broadcasts for years, Klauke became the full-time play-by-play voice for Weber State football and men’s basketball in October 2015. In his first season, he was part of the WSU men’s basketball team that won the Big Sky Championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Klauke is a veteran in the Utah sports media market. He has been the voice of the Salt Lake Bees since the organization begin in 1994 and has called over 3,000 Bees games. He has also filled in on broadcasts for the Utah Jazz and this past year twice filled in on radio broadcasts for the Los Angeles Angels, the parent club of the Bees. A native of Chicago, Klauke came to Utah in 1991 and was a part of pre and post-game shows for the Jazz radio broadcasts.
He is a two-time Utah Sportscaster of the Year, winning the award in 1995 and 2014. He was also honored in 2014 as the minor league baseball National Broadcaster of the Year by Ballpark Digest. Prior to becoming the voice of the Wildcats, he did multiple telecasts for Weber State, the Big Sky Tournament and Utah high school state championships in football and basketball
Steve and his wife Sue are the parents of two children. His son Adam is the equipment manager for the Utah Jazz.
