Associate Athletics Director for External Operations
Ron Goch is associate athletics director of external operations at Weber State University. He joined the Wildcats in June 2011.
As associate athletics director, Goch oversees marketing, ticket sales and service, corporate partnership sales and service, communications, event management and operations, digital media, trademarks and licensing, the spirit squad and mascot team, publications, and community, media and public relations for WSU's 16 collegiate athletics programs. Ron also works with the men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field teams; men's and women's cross country teams; and the women's soccer team.
Previously, Goch held marketing, sales and consulting positions with the NBA, WNBA, The Telios Group and four university athletic programs (Tennessee, Utah, Washington and Winona State). In addition, Goch has worked at 10 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classics, one year with the U.S. Ski Team, and served two years as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Tennessee.
Goch enjoys being involved in the community and serves on various boards, including the Top of Utah Military Affairs Executive Committee, the Ogden Breakfast Exchange Club, and the WSU Faculty Staff Association. Ron is also active with Rotary International and the Ogden City/WSU College Town initiative.
Previously, Goch served on boards with the Boys & Girls Clubs, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Ronald McDonald House, South Jordan Chamber of Commerce, and Special Olympics Utah.
He earned a graduate assistantship at the University of Tennessee, working in the women's athletics department (1988-90) while pursuing a master's degree in sports administration and management. He returned to UT (1997-00) as an assistant athletics director. While at Tennessee, Goch was part of four National Championships - three in women's basketball and one in football.
Goch earned B.A. degrees in journalism and public relations from Winona State University (Minnesota), and was a student-athlete on the football and track and field teams. In 2014, he was inducted into the Round Lake High School Athletics Hall of Fame.
Goch, and his wife, Susie, are the parents of three children; stepdaughter Chelsie Goble, stepson Tony Atkinson, and daughter Kennedy Goch.
